🌿 The 3 Fs of Grief

A Gentle Path Through Loss

Grief is not a straight line. It doesn’t follow a timeline, and it doesn’t look the same for anyone. What it does need is compassion, support, and space to unfold.

At Flying Solo, I guide grief through The 3 Fs of Grief — a gentle framework designed to meet you where you are and support you as you move through loss at your own pace.

These phases are not about “fixing” grief or rushing healing. They are about learning how to live again — one step, one breath, one season at a time.

F1: Functioning After Loss

The survival phase

This is the early stage of grief — often the first several months after a loss — when getting through the day feels like an accomplishment.

Functioning after loss focuses on:

  • Getting through day-to-day life
  • Creating stability and simple routines
  • Understanding and riding the waves of grief
  • Learning how to rest, breathe, and care for yourself again

This phase is about survival — not strength, productivity, or progress. Just showing up matters here.
